NASA Medical Training

About the project

A state-of-the-art simulation for NASA

When you’re working in space and a medical emergency hits, making the right decision is of critical importance. The closer we can get to recreating the tension of those experiences on a spaceship, the more prepared our astronauts will be if they are ever in a life-threatening situation.

The Process

Several companies joined together to create this revolutionary training program. With a mission to bring hands-on learning experience to astronauts, the key challenge was to ensure that the volcap performances played seamlessly one after the other, and integrated at scale with the CG environment and props. Position retargeting tools from Arcturus were used to apply slight edits to the captures so that a string of clips could play cleanly in sequence.
